Terms of service

Last updated 29 October 2026

1. Who we are

HonkWatch is operated by HonkWatch, Mauritius ("we"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. The service

We check the websites, servers, certificates and domains you add from our probe locations and tell you when something changes. We aim for continuous operation but do not guarantee that every check runs or that every alert arrives. Checks run from the public internet; we can only see what the public can see.

3. Your account

You are responsible for what is done with your account, your API key and your alert channels. Keep passwords and keys private and tell us at once if they leak. One person per login; use team members for colleagues.

4. Fair use

Only monitor systems you own or have permission to monitor. Do not use the service to load-test, scan or attack anyone, and do not try to reach private networks through our probes. We may pause monitors or accounts that break this, or that harm the service.

5. Plans and payment

Free plans are free. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider and renew until you cancel. You can change or cancel at any time from Settings; the change applies from the next billing date. Prices exclude any taxes that apply to you.

6. Data retention

Raw check results are kept for the number of days your plan allows. Incidents and uptime summaries are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete its data within 30 days except where the law says we must keep it.

7. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent allowed by law we are not liable for losses caused by missed alerts, downtime of the service, or decisions taken on the basis of our data. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes and termination

We may change these terms with 30 days' notice by email. You may close your account at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Mauritius.
